2022 Update from the Studio
Thank you!
Hello! If you’re receiving this update it is because you have become a valued and recurring client of mine sometime over the past year and a half. Thank you! It has truly been my honor and privilege to work with you. I am constantly in awe of how rewarding and meaningful this work is, and I am so grateful to be growing it with all of you. Thank you for joining me in what I believe is a collaborative journey toward individual, social and environmental healing and wellness.
While I have been a licensed massage therapist for the past 11 years, it was a scary and exciting prospect to start a private practice almost from scratch in the midst of a global pandemic and so much uncertainty. I have been humbled by the way you have all supported my practice and trusted me with your personal wellness and in your referrals to friends, coworkers and family members. I do not take this lightly and it is a responsibility I show up for with a full heart and my commitment to be the best therapist I can be.
Updated Pricing
As I reflect on the value of the work I provide, the demand for high-quality care, and the comparative costs of other bodyworkers and health care workers, I know it’s time to revisit my prices. The new price for a 90 min session will be $130.
If my new prices make this work inaccessible to you, please reach out to me privately so we can discuss a path forward that supports you and your wellness goals. I don’t want to leave anyone hanging and I’m sure we can find some solutions for you.
For those of you who have tipped in the past and are no longer able to do that at this price point, know that I still feel the love! Tipping is always appreciated but never expected, and I appreciate those of you who choose to stay with me as I so enjoy all of the ongoing client relationships we’ve built together.
Protocol Updates
Payments: I am accepting payment by cash, check and Zelle/Chase Quick Pay only. If possible, have your payment ready or pay before or after your appointment from your car (or the hammock!) so we can spend our time together doing our work rather than navigating the Zelle app or filling out a check.
Timing: I am working on being more time aware. I add 15 min to each scheduled session to account for intake/outtake, getting on and off the table, and payment or rescheduling as needed. Time on the table may be impacted if our intake time goes over. If you have requests around how we spend our time together, please let me know!
If the work is ever settling in in a way that warrants my support or is concerning to you, I am happy to set up a complimentary phone call to help orient you to possible next steps and what might be going on in your body/mind/emotions.
Cancellations: My cancellation policy is 48 hours or full payment is due. Cancellation fees will be waived if I’m able to fill it from my wait list. If I’m unable to fill it, you are then allowed to transfer it to a friend or family member if you’d like. Last minute cancellations due to illness, injury, a positive Covid test, or emergency will not be charged as long as you tell me as soon as you know of them. Please give me as much notice as possible or let me know if you think you may need to cancel but aren’t sure yet.
Sauna: I’m offering sessions in the sauna if you’d like to add that to your session!
$30 for 30min, make sure to let me know at booking.
Studio Updates
In addition to my ongoing work with all of you, I’d like to share my other visions for this year ahead. I plan to:
Develop a licensed continuing education course for other therapists
Develop a group course for clients and community members to learn massage and share the gift of touch with one another (let me know if you’re interested!)
Take more continuing education classes on prenatal work, optimal brain and cranial nerve functioning, and visceral manipulation
I might start a blog or weekly social media post on interesting facts and inspirational ideas surrounding bodywork (would that be interesting to you?)
It should be an exciting year with a lot of personal and professional growth. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments!
In part, I do massage therapy because I believe in the butterfly effect-that the changes we make today have ripples throughout the rest of our lives, relationships and community. May this be true in beautiful ways for each one of you. I’m wishing you and yours a delightful New Year and wellness inside and out!
All my best,
Olandra
