ADHD, or as I like to call it: “The Kaleidoscope Mind”
Books:
“Scattered Minds” - This book by Gabor Mate views ADHD as a complex outcome of genetics and trauma interacting. It explores both practical and healing methods toward learning how to live and thrive with ADHD.
“Driven to Distraction” - This book is straightforward, descriptive and practical. It approaches ADHD as a genetic condition and does a good job introducing and describing different pharmaceutical treatment options.
“Aware” is a book by Dan Siegal examining mindfulness practices that are proven to be more effective than medication in treating ADHD. You could, of course, do both. Explore an introduction to this method here.
“Dirty Laundry” and “Small Talk” are both easy reading to help understand some of the main ways ADHD can affect self esteem and how to take back a healthy understanding and sense of self.
“Unmasking Autism” is a wonderful book for all neurodivergent types to better understand how to live a more authentic life that centers your true feelings and expressions in the world.
“Now It All Makes Sense: How an ADHD Diagnosis Brought Clarity to My Life” I hear this is excellent.

Harnessing your hyperfocus, how to enter Flow State:
Intrinsic motivators can be found around curiosity, passion, purpose, autonomy/freedom, and mastery. Extrinsic motivators can be cultivated through concentration, blocked out time, novelty, unpredictability, complexity, awe, getting something right, risk taking.
Where in your life do you experience flow? As it relates to ___________, do a freeright of which extrinsic and intrinsic motivators help you access flow state. Where is your challenge/skills balance right now?
