Professional Boundaries

Olandra Lickter Massage Therapy is a professional space of business and bodywork therapies. Any comments, gestures, “jokes”, inuendos, flirtatious remarks, threats or solicitations for a personal romantic or sexual relationship will result in the termination of the session with full payment due.

While it may be a normal and healthy phyiological response to experience attraction or arousal during a massage, a massage therapy session is not the space to explore those themes with the therapist. If the client’s intention is to seek sexual arousal during a session, please do not book with Olandra Massage Therapy. To the extent that massage therapy may be a liberating, welcomed and healthy way to experience pleasure and sensuality within oneself, please understand that it is not intended to be experienced as a personal exchange with the therapist, or something that would advance to either a sexual or personal romantic relationship. These boundaries preserve the safety of the client to explore their internal landscapes for healing and peace, knowing that this space is just for them.

If a client finds it difficult to be in a professional relationship with their therapist, it is suggested that they discuss what’s coming up for them and how to navigate it with a separate trained professional like a psychotherapist, relationship coach, or a wise and trusted friend. They may find it most beneficial to find a new massage therapist with whom they can more easily access a personally healing and therapeutic experience without interpersonal distractions.

Understand that any conversations discussing interpersonal romantic interest may result in the termination of the working relationship.
