2024 Update from the Studio
Thank you!
As I reflect on the previous year and look forward to the new one, working with each one of you is one of my greatest blessings. I am continually inspired by the healing processes I get to witness, the stories ya’ll share with me, and the peaceful/rejuvenating space we get to create together. Thank you for trusting me with your wellness and sharing this practice and time together!
Updated Pricing
As I continue to develop my skill sets and experience, I’ve decided to update my pricing to reflect the level of work I currently provide. Price increases are a challenge for me because while I believe I should be appropriately compensated for my level of education and experience, I think healing should be accessible for everyone, covered by insurance, and more prolific. My dream is to one day see this happen, and one intention I hold in my work teaching and with professional development is to help push that in the right direction.
If my new prices make this work inaccessible to you, please reach out to me privately so we can discuss a path forward that supports you and your wellness goals. I’m sure we can find some ideas such as shorter session lengths, less frequent visits that fit into your budget, wellness activities to do at home, accessing student clinics, accessing free clinics for LBGTQ+ clients, or seeing other providers at a lower price point. I want to work with everyone to make sure they can access the care they need to thrive.
For those of you who have tipped in the past and are no longer able to do so at this price point, know that I still feel the love! Tipping is always appreciated but never expected, and I appreciate those of you who choose to stay with me, as I so enjoy all of the ongoing client relationships we’ve built together.
As always, each session booked has an extra 30 min added to account for 15min of intake/outtake/rebooking/payment, and 15min turn time between clients. I feel like this time buffer truly sets studios like mine apart so we can take our time to get the most out of your session.
30 Min Sessions!
I’m excited to launch this new approach to my practice for clients who have busy schedules, tight checkbooks, or who prefer frequency over length. These $45 sessions are 30min long with no turn time added to them. Clients will generally stay fully clothed and we’ll work on top of a sheet on the massage table. For about a year now I’ve been working this way at a business once a month and seeing great results. Just a 30min session can do a lot for people! These sessions are perfect for a full-body pick-me-up, acute focus on an area of concern like neck pain/headache/low back pain/etc, or a helpful post-operative follow up on scar tissue and body balancing. Text me to schedule (530)277-9680.
Protocol Updates
Payments: I am accepting payment by cash (preferred), check and Zelle/Chase Quick Pay only. If possible, have your cash/check payment ready or pay by Zelle before or after your appointment from your car (or the hammock!) so we can spend our time together doing our work rather than navigating the Zelle app or filling out a check.
Boundaries and Professionalism: I’ve updated and expanded my statement about boundaries and professionalism to delineate the exclusively therapeutic nature of my practice. You can read that here.
Cancellations: My cancellation policy is 48 hours or full payment is due. Cancellation fees will be waived if I’m able to fill it from my wait list. If I’m unable to fill it, you are then allowed to transfer it to a friend or family member if you’d like. Last minute cancellations due to illness, injury, a positive Covid test, or emergency will not be charged as long as you tell me as soon as you know of them. Please give me as much notice as possible or let me know if you think you may need to cancel but aren’t sure yet.
Sauna: I’m offering sessions in the sauna if you’d like to add that to your session!
$30 for 25min in the sauna and a shower after, make sure to let me know at booking.
Studio Updates
In addition to my ongoing work with all of you, I’d like to share my other visions for this year ahead. I plan to:
Continue teaching as adjunct faculty in the Delgado Massage Therapy Program, working with both beginner and advanced students.
Complete my Visceral Manipulation training and licensure through the Barral Institute. This work is truly extraordinary.
Complete a Reiki training through the Reiki Master level
I’m on the founding team for a new organization called the NOLA Wellness Pros. Our aim is to bring wellness professionals together to network, support each other, and offer continuing education classes. I plan to help cultivate the education component to foster in-person education and community development in our field while increasing the excellence of therapists here in New Orleans.
Continue working with the QT Care Clinic— offering free massage and bodywork sessions to queer and trans folks in New Orleans at community wellness clinics. The last clinic had 25 providers supporting 100 visitors! It was one of the most beautiful and inspiring events I’ve seen. Feel free to support that project here.
It should be an exciting year developing my personal practice and skillset while fostering community engagement through teaching, networking and community clinics. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, or feedback!
In part, I do massage therapy because I believe in the butterfly effect-that the wellness we cultivate today has ripples throughout the rest of our lives, relationships, community, and planet. May this be true in beautiful ways for each one of you and the world around us. I’m wishing you and yours a delightful New Year and wellness inside and out!
Best Wishes,
Olandra
